Trudy Peterson

An archival consultant with a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa, Trudy Huskamp Peterson is a Certified Archivist. She has worked with truth commissions in South Africa and Honduras, the police archives in Guatemala, the Nuclear Claims Tribunal in the Marshall Islands, and the international courts for Rwanda and Sierra Leone. She writes the monthly newsletter of the Section on Archives and Human Rights of the International Council on Archives, is past president of the Society of American Archivists and the International Conference of the Round Table on Archives, and publishes books and articles on the archives of truth commissions, international criminal courts, and police forces. She was the Acting Archivist of the United States from 1993 to 1995.
