On February 3, 2022, UMAM D&R is opening to the public an homage of Lokman Slim's writings as part of our commemoration of his life and legacy on the first anniversary of his assassination. My Devilish Friend Said… was a statement Lokman began using in 2014 and through which he commented on various social media platforms to speak about dynamics occurring around him and us with dark humor, irony, and elements of anarchism. Selected quotes of his writing will be displayed in the Hangar alongside photographs of Beirut and its people, taken by Marwan Tahtah and inspired by Lokman's words.
My Devilish Friend Said… is a salute to Lokman, a visual synthesis of public diaries fueled by people and concrete barriers that mark Beirut's cityscape and through which circulates the living words of Lokman organized by the UMAM D&R team.
